Job description

Join our well established Liaison Psychiatry team, who are diligent in creating effective care plans and comprehensive clinical strategies focused on delivering exceptional care for people with acute mental health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Accept referrals of patients aged eighteen years and over for assessment, treatment and coordination with other relevant services.
  • Work in collaboration with all members of the Liaison Psychiatry Service and involved agencies.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload of patients with co morbid physical and mental illness.
  • Provide specialist clinical input, liaison, consultancy and education to colleagues.
  • Develop and provide evidence-based treatment plans for identified patients, in collaboration with the patient and referrer.
  • Formulate, implement and evaluate treatment programmes.
  • Promote the well-being and mental health of people, by providing relevant information and advice to them, their families and supporting agencies.
  • Provide advice and support on clinical management and assessment of risk.
  • Provide advice on the management of patients subject to the MHA and MCA.

We welcome applications from highly motivated and experienced senior psychiatry practitioners who are capable of building and supporting teams of practitioners with effective decision making and communication skills. The ability to facilitate timely interventions and provide specialist assessment that will enhance the best outcome and recovery for adults (18years+) is vital in this role.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced /registered mental health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker with post registration experience of working in mental health. You must have completed practice supervision, be educated to degree level and have or be working towards a level 7 Masters qualification.
