Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking an Insurance Officer in Walthamstow, London. The role supports the Insurance and Risk Team, processing a high-volume claims workload and making liability decisions to reduce a claims backlog.

Applicants should have EL/PL claims experience, knowledge of motor, property, and third-party claims, and strong analytical skills. Local Authority insurance experience is advantageous.

• Experience making liability decisions.
• Experience with EL and PL claims.
• Experience handling motor, public liability, and property claims.
• Claims negotiation and settlement experience.
• Strong understanding of insurance policy cover and liability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Local Government Insurance experience.
• Experience working in a Local Authority insurance team.
• Knowledge of JCAD LACHS claims management system.
• Part-qualified CII or similar qualification.

Responsabilidades

• Process high-volume insurance claims with accuracy and speed.
• Assess liability and make informed decisions on claims.
• Handle EL and PL claims and negotiate settlements.
• Process motor, property and third-party claims.
• Maintain case records and prepare evidence packs for insurers.
• Liaise with insurers, solicitors, loss adjusters and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with insurance procedures and legislation.
• Support portfolio management within the council's insurance function.
