Liability Claims Handler

Location: The successful candidate will be required to attend the office at least once a week at either Glasgow, Stoke-on-Trent, or Leeds.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Davies is looking to recruit a talented Liability Claims Handler to join our growing Casualty team. The ideal candidate will have experience with EL (Employer Liability)/PL (Public Liability) Claims and Liability investigation.
This exciting opportunity involves working as part of a dedicated team providing a first-class, proactive claims handling service to major clients.

What will your day look like:

• Liaising with Insurers, Policyholders, and Brokers
• Investigating allocated claims from the desk or via referral to a field adjuster for site investigation where appropriate
• Obtaining all necessary evidence and relevant documentation
• Determining appropriate actions for case resolution
• Preparing detailed reports, providing advice on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics
• Negotiating settlements within agreed authority limits where appropriate
• Corresponding professionally with all parties to proactively progress cases to conclusion
• Handling cases in accordance with client requirements by following documented procedures
• Maintaining proper reserves through regular reviews
• Staying updated on technical changes relevant to your role, including participating in training programs facilitated by the company

Abilities and Knowledge:

• Experience handling EL & PL claims is essential
• Knowledge of valuing injury claims
• Knowledge of reserving philosophies is desirable
• Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
