Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a Training Supervisor at the Leicester Depot to lead onboarding, coaching and safety training across depots. You will develop drivers, deliver practical training on vehicle checks and operational tasks, and promote a positive safety culture.

You'll collaborate with depot teams and Business Managers to ensure knowledge, confidence and skills align with policy and legislation. Travel across the region and some overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have LGV C driving licence and Driver CPC.
• Knowledge of transport legislation and road safety requirements.
• Experience in training, coaching and supervising drivers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver onboarding and induction across depots.
• Coach drivers to improve driving standards and road safety awareness.
• Provide practical depot-based training across vehicles and operations (defect checks, wheel torquing, manual handling, tachographs).
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks and risk checks.
• Support operational compliance including vehicle gate checks and route risk assessments.
• Monitor performance and identify training needs with depot managers.
• Maintain training records and assessments per procedures.
• Identify and report risks and unsafe practices; suggest improvements.
• Support recruitment through interviews and pre-driving assessments.
