Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a Driver Trainer for our Staines Depot to ensure all drivers meet safety and regulatory standards. You will lead induction, provide ongoing training, and maintain comprehensive training records to keep the driver community safe and compliant.

The role requires 3+ years of HGV experience, CPC training, and a strong focus on ongoing development and performance improvement across driving teams at the Staines depot.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HGV driving experience including multiple modes.
• Proven expertise in conducting driver assessments.
• Up-to-date CPC Training.
• Valid Class 2 HGV Licence and Digital Tachograph.
• Knowledge of Working Time Directive and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and Onboarding: support hiring with pre-employment assessments and 5-day Driver Induction.
• Ongoing Driver Training: provide refresher and mode training for driver skills and customer experience.
• Record Management: maintain driver competence and training records.
• Post-Incident Support: reassessment and retraining after incidents.
• Driving Performance Reviews: analyse driving data with management to identify needs.
• Behavioural Interventions: targeted support for improvement in actions or behaviours.
• Vehicle Updates Communication: stay updated on vehicle changes and share with drivers.
• Continuous Improvement: enhance training delivery and personal development.
