Job summary

Biffa Group is seeking a Driver Trainer (LGV/HGV) based at the Staines Depot to ensure all drivers are trained to a high standard, meeting statutory, legal and operational requirements. You will monitor practices, deliver induction and ongoing training, and maintain comprehensive records to keep the driver community safe and compliant.

The role involves recruitment support, regular refresher trainings, post-incident reassessments, and collaboration with management to improve driver performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HGV driving experience across multiple HGV modes.
• Proven expertise in conducting driver assessments.
• Up-to-date CPC training and valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and onboarding: support pre-employment assessments and deliver a 5-day Driver Induction.
• Ongoing driver training: provide refresher and mode-specific training.
• Record management: maintain driver competence and training records.
• Post-incident support: reassessment and retraining for drivers following incidents.
• Driving performance reviews: analyse driving data with management to identify needs.
• Behavioural interventions: provide targeted support for drivers needing improvement.
• Vehicle updates: stay informed on vehicle changes and share with drivers.
• Continuous improvement: enhance training delivery and pursue professional development.
