We are currently recruiting a LGV Driver to join our clients waste management team based in Peterhead.

Job Purpose:

Drive and operate waste vacuum road tankers, curtained-sided vehicles and vans as required.

Provide on-site customer care, information and support.

Ensure all instructions given by line manager are adhered to and carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company HSEQ procedures.

  • Operate vehicles in a safe and effective manner to minimise the risk of injury or damage to other vehicles and property
  • Tanker Operations ensuring safe handling and transportation of a wide range of hazardous materials and products
  • Operation of curtain sided trailers
  • Inspection and maintenance of associated accessories and equipment including pumps, valves, tanks, vessels, hoses and couplings
  • Respond courteously and effectively to all reasonable customer demands
  • Carriage of Dangerous Goods in line with ADR regulations
  • Accept, start and complete all relevant deliveries and collections using the Transport Management System (TMS) via an APP on the vehicle phone
  • Ensure signatures are obtained within the TMS system via the App as proof of delivery
  • Completion and processing of all relevant customer and regulatory paperwork
  • Ensure that all activity is co-ordinated in accordance with relevant company guidelines and statutory regulations
  • Attend team brief / safety meetings as required
  • Continually review performance identifying areas for improvement
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained with all areas of responsibility
  • To be aware of existing company and external body agreements
  • Regular overnight trips within the UK
  • Any other reasonable tasks required by line management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Class 1 LGV Licence
  • Certificate of Professional Competence Card
  • ADR Dangerous Goods by Road Certificate

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies

  • Experience of road tanker operations including the transport and safe handling of flammable/corrosive/toxic materials
  • Thorough understanding of waste documentation and special waste handling
  • Thoroughly familiar with relevant safety procedures for tanker and waste operations
