Job summary

DPD UK Chelmsford is seeking a reliable LGV Driver to join our national transport team, operating a modern fleet and ensuring timely nationwide collections and deliveries.

You will use GPS and tachographs, maintain safety checks, and interact with dispatchers and customers. The role offers permanent 40-hour weeks, a Friday–Tuesday pattern, and competitive pay with night-rate premiums.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (CE) licence and CPC card.
• Excellent knowledge of UK roads and drive times.
• Reliable and safety‑conscious with good problem‑solving.

Responsibilities

• Move bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers.
• Manage trailer swaps and live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and tachographs to manage routes and stay compliant.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers nationwide.
• Perform thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving.
