Job summary

Grundon is seeking a Class 2 LGV Driver to join our Transport team at Gatwick depot. You will learn to drive and operate waste collection vehicles, predominantly hazardous clinical waste, in line with our high safety standards.

We offer a 44.75 hour week, early starts, and a discretionary bonus scheme with fully-funded CPC training. The role stresses customer service, accuracy, and teamwork in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid LGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence with DQC and tachograph card.
• Experience operating waste collection vehicles is essential.
• ADR certification is desirable; training can be provided.
• Class 1 (C+E) licence is advantageous but not required.
• Willing to learn and adapt to multiple vehicle types.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects as required by law.
• Comply with tachograph laws, WTD, SOPs and risk assessments.
• Report incidents, near misses and non-conforming waste with paperwork.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and weekly wheel-nut torque checks.
• Wear PPE/uniform to health and safety standards.
• Deliver excellent internal and external customer service.
• Be punctual, maintain records, and accommodate overtime when needed.
