Job summary

Grundon Waste Management Ltd is seeking a motivated Transport team member at our Ford depot. The role involves driving waste collection vehicles, learning to operate various vehicles, and performing safety checks while adhering to legal requirements.

Training will be provided for relevant vehicle types; candidates should be proactive, customer-focused, and willing to work shifts including alternate Saturdays. A competitive salary and benefits are offered in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, Driver Qualification Card (DQC) and digital tachograph card.
• Class 1 (C+E) licence is desirable.
• ADR certification is desirable; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects in line with legal requirements.
• Comply with tachograph legislation, WTD, SOPs and risk assessments.
• Report incidents, near misses and any contaminated waste with accurate paperwork.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete weekly wheel nut torque checks.
• Wear and maintain PPE/uniform to Health & Safety standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Be flexible with working hours and support overtime when required.
