Job description

Location: Dagenham Depot

Salary: £43,510 + meal allowance (£5 per day) + £1k retention bonus

Start Time: 03:00

Shift: Monday to Friday (48hrs)

Keenan Recycling, part of Biffa, provides food waste collection services for businesses including restaurants, hotels, care homes, hospitals, and prisons. We also collect food waste on behalf of waste management companies, brokers, and councils. Using high-end technology, we process food waste by transporting it to anaerobic digestion plants, where it is converted into biogas for electricity, heat, or biofuel for transport.

The role of a LGV Driver involves collecting and emptying food waste wheelie bins on a multi-collection basis.

This is a physically demanding role requiring early starts and outdoor work in all weather conditions. It’s ideal if you enjoy working independently outdoors and want to make a positive impact on the environment and local communities.

Duties:

1. Multi-collections of food waste wheelie bins
2. Providing excellent customer service
3. Covering weekend work where applicable
4. Performing additional duties as necessary

Key skills & experience:

• Class C Licence holder
• Valid Digital Tachograph
• Valid DQCPC Card
• Proven safe and efficient driving record
• Ability to take ownership of tasks, prioritize, and complete them
