Job description

Location: Dagenham Depot

Salary: £43,510 + meal allowance (£5 per day) + £1k retention bonus

Start Time: 03:00

Shift: Monday to Friday (48hrs)

Keenan Recycling, part of Biffa, provides food waste collection services for businesses including restaurants, hotels, care homes, hospitals, and prisons. We also collect food waste on behalf of waste management companies, brokers, and councils. Using high-end technology, we convert food waste into biogas at anaerobic digestion plants, which can be used for electricity, heat, or biofuel for transport.

The role of a LGV Driver involves collecting and emptying food waste wheelie bins on a multi-collection basis.

This is a physically demanding role requiring early starts and outdoor work in all weather conditions. It is suitable for individuals who enjoy working independently outdoors and want to make a positive impact on the environment and communities.

Duties:

1. Multi-collections of food waste wheelie bins
2. Providing excellent customer service
3. Covering weekend work where applicable
4. Assisting with additional duties as necessary

Key Skills & Experience:

1. Class C Licence
2. Valid Digital Tachograph
3. Valid DQCPC Card
4. Proven safety and efficiency as a driver
5. Ability to take ownership of tasks, prioritize, and complete them
6. Good problem-solving skills
