Job description

Location: Dagenham Depot

Salary: £43,510 + meal allowance (£5 per day) + £1k retention bonus

Start Time: 03:00

Shift: Monday to Friday (48hrs)

Keenan Recycling, part of Biffa, provides food waste collection services for businesses including restaurants, hotels, care homes, hospitals, and prisons. We also collect food waste on behalf of waste management companies, brokers, and councils. Using advanced technology, we convert food waste into biogas at anaerobic digestion plants, which can be used for electricity, heat, or biofuel for transport.

The role of an LGV Driver involves collecting and emptying food waste wheelie bins on a multi-collection basis.

This is a physically demanding role requiring early starts and outdoor work in all weather conditions. It's ideal for those who enjoy working independently outdoors and want to contribute positively to the environment and local communities.

Duties:

1. Multi-collections of food waste wheelie bins
2. Providing excellent customer service
3. Covering weekend work where applicable
4. Taking on additional duties as necessary

Key skills & experience:

• Class C Licence holder
• Valid Digital Tachograph
• Valid DQCPC Card
• Proven safe and efficient driving record
• Ability to take ownership of tasks, prioritize, and complete them
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good geographical knowledge
• Strong team spirit
