Job summary

Biffa Ltd is seeking a proactive LGV driver to join a outdoor crew, collecting and emptying bins, boxes and bags from households across the local area.

You will drive large rigid vehicles, perform daily safety checks, and ensure compliance with hours and tachographs. The role emphasizes initiative, teamwork, and delivering high standards of service to residents and communities.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety
• Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements
• Ability to safely manoeuvre and operate a large rigid vehicle
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Good awareness of health & safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV waste collection vehicles and collect/empty bins, boxes and bags from householders.
• Lead and support a crew, working outdoors and using your initiative.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects to maintain safety standards.
• Follow drivers' hours regulations and tachograph requirements to stay compliant.
• Keep customers informed and provide a courteous, efficient service.
