Job summary

Biffa is seeking an LGV Driver Loader at Bourne Mill Depot. You will drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collect and empty household bins, boxes and bags, and participate in street cleansing duties as part of a dedicated outdoor team.

This role offers a 42.5-hour week, Monday to Friday, with early start times from 06:00, an hourly rate of £17.48, and a strong focus on safety, teamwork and delivering reliable service to communities.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence is required.
• Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card (DQC) is required.
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety is essential.
• Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements.
• Ability to safely manoeuvre and operate a large rigid vehicle.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Good awareness of health & safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV waste collection vehicles and collect/empty bins, boxes and bags from households.
• Carry out street cleansing activities such as sweeping and litter picking.
• Work as part of a crew and contribute to outdoor projects with initiative.
• Lead teams as needed and demonstrate reliability and safety awareness.

Days of work: Monday to Friday (42.5 hours per week)

Start/Finish Times: 06.00 to 15.00 (30 mins unpaid break)

Hourly Rate: £17.48

Working as part of a crew, you will drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collecting and emptying bins, boxes and bags from householders and carrying out street cleansing activities such as sweeping and litter picking.
