Job summary

The Emerald Group is seeking an Associate Actuarial Consultant to join our growing public sector unit in the UK. This role is ideal for a part-qualified actuary seeking broad LGPS consulting exposure and hands-on client experience.

You will support LGPS authorities and employers, manage client accounts, prepare actuarial calculations, reports and presentations, and contribute to proposition development while progressing toward actuarial qualification.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified actuary seeking broad LGPS consulting exposure
• Experience of pensions actuarial work and understanding of UK pension legislation
• Strong actuarial modelling skills and attention to detail
• Excellent client management and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Acting as a client co-ordinator on a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard
• Preparing and checking actuarial calculations including funding valuations and accounting disclosures
• Preparing client communications, reports and presentations and attending client meetings
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships and understanding clients' wider challenges and objectives
• Managing aspects of client account administration and liaising with stakeholders
• Coaching and developing less experienced colleagues
• Contributing to proposition development and process improvements
• Progressing toward qualification with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
• Experience of pensions actuarial work and understanding of UK pension legislation
