Assistant Manager Role

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to meet or exceed sales & KPI targets. Set clear sales goals, track performance, and evolve processes for continuous store growth.
  2. Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and developing staff. Build a motivated, high-performing team to increase store success.
  3. Analyze sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions with the Store Manager, identifying operational and commercial opportunities.
  4. Act as the point of contact in the manager's absence.
  5. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
  6. Assist in managing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  7. Support cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
  8. Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  9. Provide feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
  10. Assist the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules for proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs:
  1. Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
  2. Drive additional KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
  3. Achieve upselling or cross-selling targets.
  4. Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
  5. Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
  6. Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
  7. Maintain employee satisfaction scores or engagement survey results meeting or exceeding company benchmarks.
  8. Help keep operational costs within the budget.
Skills and Experience:
  1. Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
  2. Passionate about retail with a good understanding of current trends and competitors.
  3. Experience in coaching and developing individuals.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  6. Experience analyzing KPI data for commercial decision-making.
  7. Keen eye for detail and commerciality; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
  8. Ability to promote JD Group values to stakeholders.
