COMPANY Our client, a leader in industrial development across approximately 20 countries and regions on five continents, integrates investment with industry operations. As they expand their global capital market presence, they seek top talents in Tokyo, London, and New York to develop investment markets in APAC, Europe, and the US.

REPORT TO: Head of PE

JOB SUMMARY

The Managing Director, based in Tokyo, London, or New York, will build a sustainable overseas direct investment platform aligned with the Group’s strategy. The ideal candidate will have extensive regional direct investment experience and networks in sectors like consumer, healthcare, services, and TMT.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Formulate regional investment strategies aligned with the Group’s targets.
2. Oversee the entire investment process: deal sourcing, research, due diligence, financial modeling, negotiations, agreements, and exit planning. Ensure projects are legally compliant and well-structured locally.
3. Post-investment, collaborate with project teams and HQ to mitigate risks affecting IR targets.
4. Build and lead the local investment management team following best practices.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in investment banking, PE, entrepreneurship, or venture capital, including over 3 years in reputable VCs or venture capital funds.
• Knowledge of capital market policies, regulations, and industry characteristics, especially in mass consumption, industrial structure, and government policies.
• Hands-on experience from deal sourcing to closing.
• Understanding of macroeconomics and industry development.
• Strong local business and government network.
• Excellent cross-cultural communication, pitching, and collaboration skills within the Group.
• Team-oriented with coaching and supervisory capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and thrive in a high-performance environment.
• Solid academic background with financial credentials such as MBA or CFA.
• Additional language skills (e.g., Mandarin) are advantageous.
