Job summary

Grange Moor Primary School, part of The Mast Academy Trust, invites applications for an Apprentice Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Level 5). The role supports teaching and learning across individuals, groups and whole classes under supervision, progressing towards a Level 5 apprenticeship qualification.

The successful candidate will deliver interventions, support wellbeing and behaviour, and work with staff to maintain high teaching standards. Closing date 13 October 2026, 9.00am.

Qualifications

• Has experience working as an Educational Support Assistant (or equivalent).
• Has strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Is confident supporting and leading learning activities.
• Can work independently and use initiative.
• Is flexible and able to adapt to different situations.
• enthusiastic about working with children.
• hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
• Have strong communication skills, including the ability to engage children in conversation.
• Show initiative, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
• Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes.
• Lead whole class sessions (e.g. PPA cover).
• Deliver targeted interventions and support pupil progress.
• Support behaviour, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
