Job summary

Herons’ Moor Academy is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with Years 1–5, providing class support and PPA cover under supervision.

The role involves planning and delivering learning activities, supporting students to access the curriculum and achieve their potential, and working with SENCO and staff. 32.5 hours per week, term-time only plus INSET days; permanent with a start date of 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Gained HLTA status or equivalent qualification to operate at HLTA level.
• GCSE English and Maths (C or above) or equivalent.
• Experience as a skilled TA/HLTA with ability to lead small-group work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver agreed learning activities under supervision.
• Lead lessons for individuals, small groups or classes within the framework.
• Provide targeted support for specific students or groups.
• Collaborate with SENCO, teachers and SLT to support curriculum access.
