Job summary

You will provide 1:1 and small‑group support, collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO, and help pupils access learning while promoting engagement and positive behaviour.

Essentials include a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), prior primary school experience, and strong communication and patience.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school seeking to appoint a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide high-quality support, helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

The role will involve:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

The successful candidate will have:

• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).


• Previous experience working within a primary school setting.


• Experience supporting children with SEND, including SEMH needs.


• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
