Job summary

Soundwell Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to support pupils with diverse needs within a dynamic school environment. You will work with teachers to implement learning activities, monitor progress and provide pastoral support to learners.

The role requires strong communication, a friendly approach and the ability to adapt plans for individuals or groups, with a commitment to safeguarding and welfare. Term-time schedule applies, with daily hours as listed.

Qualifications

• Evidence of a good basic education, especially in English and Maths.
• Friendly and courteous manner.
• Ability to plan and implement effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving.
• Ability to relate well to both children and adults.
• A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or HLTA status.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, relevant experience.
• Basic understanding and use of technology (Google, Internet, email, photocopiers).
• Experience working effectively as part of a team.
• Training in strategies such as literacy, numeracy, ICT, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Attend to pupils’ personal needs and welfare.
• Supervise and support pupils ensuring safety and access to learning.
• Develop knowledge of pupils’ needs and implement strategies.
• Assist with development of pupil profiles and intervention plans.
• Establish constructive relationships with pupils and promote inclusion.
• Support teacher in planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons.
• Mark and record pupil progress; update records as required.
• Liaise with parents/carers and participate in feedback sessions.
