Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Watford area. You will work alongside teachers and the SEN department to provide tailored support for pupils with diverse learning needs, helping them engage and achieve goals.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 TA qualification, have experience in education and SEN, and demonstrate strong communication, safeguarding commitment, and a passion for inclusive learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN.

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Watford area. This rewarding role involves working alongside teaching staff and the SEN department to provide tailored support for pupils with a variety of additional learning needs, helping them engage positively with education and reach their individual goals.

This opportunity would suit a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and is passionate about promoting an inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel supported, valued, and encouraged to succeed.

Key Duties:

• Provide targeted support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
• Deliver individualised support on a one-to-one basis as well as within small group settings
• Assist pupils in accessing learning activities and participating fully in classroom lessons
• Support the development of positive behaviours, emotional wellbeing, and social skills
• Observe, monitor, and contribute to records relating to pupil progress and development
• Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure effective support strategies are implemented
• Adapt learning approaches and interventions to meet the specific needs of individual pupils
• Foster independence, resilience, and self-confidence in learners
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive educational environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
• Previous experience supporting children or young people within an educational setting
• Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs
• A good understanding of a variety of SEN needs and approaches to supporting them effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence in promoting positive behaviour and engagement
• A genuine enthusiasm for supporting children and young people's development
• A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilitiesExperience within a primary or secondary school setting (advantageous)
