Job summary

Education Impact Academy Trust is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for Mayfield School in Birmingham. This permanent role is 32.5 hours per week, term time only, across two sites (Wheeler Street Lozells and Heathfield Road Handsworth).

Salary is Grade 3 (£27,254-£33,699 FTE) with pro-rata SEN allowance (£1,722). Start date 2 November 2026. A collaborative, inclusive culture and regular professional development opportunities are offered.

Salary: Grade 3- £27,254 - £33,699 FTE (£21,217.91 - £26,235.50 Actual) and SEN Allowance - £1,722 pro rata. Pay award pending Autumn 2026

Start Date: 2 November 2026

About this role

Mayfield School is looking for experienced, positive and flexible teaching assistants to join our team. Our school is a special school for 315 pupils aged between 3 and 19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities including autism.

The school is split across two sites - Wheeler Street in Lozells (co-located with Holte School and Lozells Junior and Infant School and Nursery) and Heathfield Road in Handsworth. The EYFS department, currently made up of two class groups, is based at Mayfield’s Heathfield Road site.

Teaching assistants have a key role in supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning.
