Job summary

Academics is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our Birmingham-based partner schools. This role offers flexible scheduling with day-to-day supply, short-term bookings and long-term placements across the Birmingham area.

You will support pupils’ educational development, assist the class teacher, and provide tailored help for SEND learners. The position requires an Enhanced DBS on the update service, a Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent), and a commitment to ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on update service is required.
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Willingness to undertake ongoing training when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' educational development and assist the class teacher.
• Create a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere.
• Provide tailored assistance for SEND pupils.
• Monitor students and report to the designated teacher.
• De-escalate behavioural conflicts in line with school policy.
