Job summary

The Harmony Trust is offering an Apprenticeship Level 3 Teaching Assistant opportunity at Alt Academy in Oldham. You will support pupils with developing early years and primary skills within a safe, inclusive environment.

You will work under the guidance of experienced teachers, assist with observations, manage basic classroom tasks and participate in busy learning activities. The apprenticeship lasts about 2 years 11 months with training provided by The Oldham College.

Qualifications

• Essential - GCSE English (A*-C)
• Essential - GCSE Maths (A*-C)

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport and respectful relationships with pupils
• Assist supervision and support pupils, including those with special needs
• Ensure all pupils are safe and have equal access to learning opportunities
• Assist with personal programmes related to health, welfare and development
• Administer basic first aid and/or medication as trained
• Promote inclusion and self-esteem among pupils
• Support teacher with pupil behaviour and instruction
• Record pupil progress and report to teachers as directed
• Prepare classrooms and maintain equipment for lessons
• Provide routine clerical support (photocopying, filing, stock)
