Job summary

Engage Education is hiring an Apprentice Teaching Assistant in Oldham. Start date September 2026. You’ll support pupils 1:1 and in small groups across EYFS to KS2 while undertaking a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

Earn while you learn with pay from day one (£10.00–£13.00 per hour) and full mentoring. The role offers school-based training, DBS support, and clear progression to higher levels in Primary education.

Qualifications

• Interest in pursuing a career in teaching
• Willingness to train and develop as a TA during the apprenticeship
• Ability to work with children across EYFS, KS1 or KS2

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Assist with phonics, literacy and numeracy interventions
• Help manage classroom behaviour and engagement
• Support children’s emotional and social development
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and resources
