Job summary

Harefield School invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Apprentice starting in September 2026. This Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship includes online training and a dedicated tutor, with a fixed 30-hour week from 8:50am to 3:10pm and a salary of £8.00 per hour plus an increase after one year for those aged 19+.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths at grades 4–9 (A*–C) desirable.
• Confident using basic IT systems or handheld devices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special needs.
• Assist with development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans.
• Attend to pupils' personal needs and welfare matters.
• Supervise and support pupils ensuring safety and access to learning.
• Establish good relationships with pupils and be a positive role model.
• Promote inclusion and engagement in activities led by the teacher.
• Provide feedback to pupils on progress under teacher guidance.
• Create a supportive learning environment in line with lesson plans.
