Job summary

Meadowhead School in Sheffield is offering a Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship starting in September 2026. The role provides hands-on classroom experience within a large, diverse school serving the south and south-west areas of Sheffield.

You will work under a dedicated tutor, with online training support, as you complete a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. The programme runs 18 months, with a salary of £8.00 per hour (32.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 8:30am-3:30pm).

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths at grades 4–9 (A*–C) required.
• Patience, sensitivity, and a calm, caring nature.
• Enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assist with lesson planning and evaluation as appropriate.
• Record pupil achievement and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Support ICT use in learning activities and help pupils access learning materials.
• Provide general administrative support and prepare worksheets as needed.
