Job description

Location: Smethwick, West Midlands
Salary: £88.98 £95.00 per day
Hours: 8:15am 3:45pm, Monday to Friday

Are you a dedicated and qualified Teaching Assistant looking to secure a long-term, full-time role starting in September 2025? We are currently working in partnership with a welcoming 2-form entry Primary School in Smethwick to recruit a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school.

About the Role:
This is a full-time position running from September 2025 until July 2026. You will be working within a supportive team in an inclusive and diverse school environment, supporting teaching and learning both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or a Childcare-related qualification.

  • Ability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:15am 3:45pm.

  • Recent experience in a school setting, ideally with SEND and/or SEMH pupils (preferred but not essential).

  • Able to provide two recent, professional references from UK-based employers.

  • A current enhanced DBS certificate (issued within the last 12 months) or willingness to obtain one.

  • A positive, proactive, and flexible individual who is passionate about supporting children s learning and wellbeing.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

  • Experience supporting small groups and/or delivering targeted interventions is a bonus.
