Job summary

Cover People are recruiting a confident Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Eccles on a long-term basis. The role combines classroom support with PPA cover, across different year groups, to keep learning engaging and on track.

You will lead pre-planned activities, support pupils with diverse needs, and work closely with teachers and other TAs to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in a primary school setting.
• Confident delivering planned lessons and activities.
• Strong behaviour-management and clear communication skills.
• Ability to follow planning and maintain classroom routines.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide PPA cover across different primary classes and year groups.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities.
• Support pupils to understand and complete their work.
• Maintain positive behaviour and effective classroom routines.
• Provide general classroom support alongside teaching staff.
• Lead small-group activities and targeted learning interventions.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs (SEND).
• Adapt resources and activities to meet pupils' needs.
• Monitor pupil engagement and progress.
• Prepare classroom resources and support day-to-day learning.
