Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to join primary schools in Ferryhill, Durham, starting September 2026. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a 8:30am-3:30pm or 8:30am-4:00pm schedule and term-time only.

You will support pupils with SEND, assist classroom activities, and deliver targeted interventions to help students achieve their personal and academic goals, working closely with teachers and support staff.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience working within a school environment.
• Excellent communication skills with pupils, carers and staff.
• Approachable, caring and patient in interactions with children.

Responsibilities

• Support lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Work with individuals and small groups.
• Deliver structured interventions to raise attainment.
• Support pupils with SEND to access learning.
• Help prepare classroom resources and materials.
• Encourage participation and positive behaviour.
• Support pupils to become more independent.
