Job summary

Senploy in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN provision within a school. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, and developing communication, independence and social skills alongside the class teacher and support team.

The successful candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a SEN-related area, plus experience with children or young people with

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or SEN-related qualification.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience within a specialist or SEN provision.
• Knowledge of autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support as required.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in activities.
• Support development of communication, independence and social skills.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Follow individual support plans and EHCP targets.
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals.
• Create a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment.
