Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistants with Level 3 qualifications or above to work within mainstream primary schools from September 2026. These roles offer the opportunity to support pupils across the classroom while taking on additional responsibility for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Working alongside experienced class teachers and SENDCOs, you will play a key role in delivering targeted interventions, providing 1:1 support where required, and adapting learning to ensure every child can reach their full potential. These positions are ideal for Teaching Assistants looking to further develop their classroom experience while gaining greater responsibility within a supportive school environment.

The role will involve:

• Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 within a mainstream classroom.
• Working closely with pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups to support academic progress.
• Adapting learning activities and resources to meet a variety of learning needs.
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to class teachers and SENDCOs.
• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and school staff to ensure consistent support.

The ideal candidate MUST:

• Hold a Level 3 qualification (or above) in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
• Have recent experience working within a primary school setting.
• Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs or a genuine passion for inclusive education.
• Be confident delivering small group interventions and providing 1:1 support.
• Be proactive, patient and able to adapt to the needs of individual pupils.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Be committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
