Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking multiple Teaching Assistants to support learners in our Primary schools across Southend and surrounding areas including Rochford. You will work under guidance to support inclusion and learning, with 1:1 or small-group support, while maintaining a safe classroom environment.

The role offers weekly pay and competitive PAYE rates, plus access to an online portal with CPD resources and a friend-referral scheme.

Qualifications

  • Must have appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
  • All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with 1:1 and small-group activities to meet individual social, educational and intellectual needs.
  • Maintain a safe, tidy classroom and equipment.
  • Record observations of pupils during the school day.
  • Communicate knowledge and understanding of students to other school staff.
  • Promote inclusion and encourage participation in learning and activities.
  • Provide teaching and learning support using appropriate resources.
  • Support students with SEN and additional needs.

We are looking for a number of Teaching Assistants to provide support within our Primary schools in Southend and the surrounding areas.

Classroom duties:
  • Working to ensure the students receive an inclusive education with 1:1 support, based on their individual social, educational and intellectual needs.
  • Maintain the classroom and equipment in a safe and tidy condition.
  • Contribute to record-keeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day.
  • Communicate their knowledge and understanding of students to other school staff.
  • Demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours consistent with the role and in line with the expectations.
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Provide teaching and learning support including the use of appropriate technical resources.
  • Support students with SEN and additional needs.

Typical hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 3:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
