Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Level 3 Nursery Assistant to support learning in a Washington-based Primary School on a full-time basis. The role involves assisting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour, both 1:1 and in small groups, and delivering targeted intervention sessions under the guidance of Class Teachers.

You will help develop understanding of diverse learning needs and support across the school at breaktimes and lunchtimes, contributing to a positive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with Children in UK schools.
• Hold Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered with update service or willingness to apply.
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour 1:1 and in small groups.
• Deliver intervention sessions to small groups to boost understanding and progress.
• Develop understanding of different pupil needs and learning styles with Class Teachers.

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Level 3 Nursery Assistant to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Nursery/ Primary Schools across in Washington on a full-time basis. About the Role:

• The role will involve supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The different types of SEN that pupils have may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and PMLD.
• The role will also involve delivering intervention sessions to small groups of pupils to boost their understanding and progress.
• A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this.
• The role will also involve supporting across the School at breaktimes and lunchtimes as required.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

• Pay - Between £88-110 per day
• Hours - 08.30-16.00
• Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2027. Temporary Contract.
• Start Date - 2nd November
• Location - Washington

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
• Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
• An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
• A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references that cover the last two years
