Job summary

YMCA Derbyshire is seeking a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our Stepping Stones nursery. In this role you will help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5, delivering high-quality play experiences that support learning and development.

You will work closely with parents and colleagues to ensure outstanding care, follow the EYFS framework, uphold safeguarding, and build positive relationships with children and families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children aged 0–5 in an early years setting.
• Knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Role is subject to references and an enhanced DBS check.

Salary: £24,784.50pa/£12.71 per hour (National Living Wage)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the role

At YMCA Stepping Stones, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. As a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, you'll help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children aged 0–5 can learn, grow and thrive.

You'll support children's learning and development through high-quality play experiences, helping them build the skills, confidence and curiosity they need for their future journey into education. Working closely with parents, carers and colleagues, you'll play an important role in ensuring every child receives outstanding care and support.

As part of our dedicated nursery team, you'll contribute to creating positive experiences for children and families whilst helping us deliver flexible, affordable, high-quality childcare within the local community.

What we’re looking for

Experience working with children aged 0–5 years in an early years setting.

Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Someone who can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
