Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting Level 3 EYFS Practitioners to support welcoming primary schools and Early Years settings across Middlesbrough and the Teesside area. Flexibility offered with supply, weekly bookings or longer-term placements.

You will work with Nursery and Reception and help children aged 2–5 develop essential early learning skills, supporting play-based learning, communication and language development, and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• UK-recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• Experience in Nursery/Reception or Early Years settings.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Ability to support communication, independence and wellbeing.
• Familiarity with creating safe, inclusive learning environments.
• Right to work in the UK; DBS compliance.
• Satisfactory references and safeguarding checks.

Location: Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham, Yarm and surrounding areas

What we’re looking for:

• A UK-recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification, ideally recognised as full and relevant for EYFS staff-to-child ratios.
• Previous experience working in Nursery, Reception or Early Years settings.
• A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Confidence supporting children's communication, independence and emotional wellbeing.
• Experience creating safe, engaging and inclusive learning environments.
• A caring, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
• Flexibility to work across different primary schools and Early Years settings.

Essential requirements:

• UK-recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• Proven experience working with children in Early Years.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced child workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
• Satisfactory professional references and completion of safeguarding checks.
