Job summary

Operam Education is seeking a Level 3 Childcare Practitioner in Kingston upon Thames to support our youngest learners in a high-achieving school.

The role focuses on safe, engaging activities aligned with EYFS, forming strong relationships with children and families, and working with teachers to foster development. DBS checks and QTS/equivalent are required for placement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and supporting learning through play.
• Experience in a school or early years setting is advantageous.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is required for teaching roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and ensure children's safety and wellbeing.
• Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate activities for development.
• Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
• Maintain a stimulating, well-organised and inclusive learning environment.

• Work closely with teachers and the school team.

Hours: 8:30am to 4pm

Main Duties

• Provide high-quality care and support for children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
• Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage children's learning and development.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
• Help maintain a stimulating, well-organised and inclusive learning environment.
• Observe and contribute to children's progress and development records.
• Work closely with teachers and other members of the school team.
• Follow the school's safeguarding, health and safety and child protection procedures.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage children's independence and confidence.

About You

• Level 3 Childcare Practitionerwho is caring, enthusiastic and passionate about working with children.
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and be confident in supporting children's learning through play and engaging activities.
• Reliable and positive team player with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing outstanding care.
• Previous experience working within a school or early years setting would be advantageous.
