Job summary

Operam Education Group is seeking a Level 3 Childcare Practitioner for our Kingston-upon-Thames site. The role runs 8:30am to 4pm and starts on 1 September 2026, within a warm early years setting focused on safe, stimulating learning and strong family partnerships.

The successful candidate will support children’s development in line with the EYFS, work as a positive team member, and engage with parents to promote positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 Childcare Practitioner qualification or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Reliable team player with good communication and a caring approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and support for children, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning.
• Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
• Support children’s personal, social and emotional development.
• Maintain a stimulating, well-organised and inclusive learning environment.
• Observe and contribute to children’s progress and development records.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and child protection procedures.
• Promote positive behaviour and independence.

Main Duties

• Provide high-quality care and support for children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
• Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage children's learning and development.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
• Help maintain a stimulating, well-organised and inclusive learning environment.
• Observe and contribute to children's progress and development records.
• Work closely with teachers and other members of the school team.
• Follow the school's safeguarding, health and safety and child protection procedures.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage children's independence and confidence.

About You

• Level 3 Childcare Practitionerwho is caring, enthusiastic and passionate about working with children.
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and be confident in supporting children's learning through play and engaging activities.
• Reliable and positive team player with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing outstanding care.
• Previous experience working within a school or early years setting would be advantageous.
