Job summary

Education World Ltd in Hartlepool is seeking a Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to support young learners in a warm, inclusive primary setting. This full-time role runs from September 2026 to December 2026, working with the class teacher and EYFS team to plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities.

The successful candidate will have a Level 3 EY qualification, EYFS knowledge, and a caring, patient approach.

Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant – Hartlepool

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Hartlepool from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Early Years practitioner who is committed to giving children the very best start to their educational journey.

The school is a well-established and highly regarded primary setting with a strong community ethos and a commitment to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Staff work collaboratively to ensure every child is supported academically, socially, and emotionally, with a particular focus on developing confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning from the earliest years.

As a Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team to support children's learning through engaging, play-based experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will help create a stimulating and caring environment where every child can thrive.

This is a full-time position commencing in September 2026 and continuing until December 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning by working with individual children and small groups within the Early Years setting.
  • Assist in delivering engaging, play-based learning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Support children's communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where children can flourish.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress, contributing to planning and next steps.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider Early Years team to support daily routines and learning activities.
  • Encourage children to develop independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
Essential Criteria
  • A recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential.
  • Experience working within an Early Years setting.
  • A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Criteria
  • Previous experience supporting children within a primary school Reception class.
  • Experience contributing to observations, assessments, and learning journals.
  • Knowledge of phonics and early language development.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality Early Years education.
