Teaching Assistant (Primary) – Gateshead

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Gateshead from September 2026. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to support pupils across the classroom environment. You will play an important role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting engagement in learning, and helping children make positive academic, social, and emotional progress.

This role will commence in September 2026 and continue until February 2027.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to promote positive behaviour within the classroom.
• A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning.
• Previous experience supporting pupils within a school or educational setting is highly desirable.
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

This role would suit an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and making a positive contribution to their education. The successful candidate will have strong behaviour management skills and ideally previous experience working within a school environment, joining a dedicated and supportive staff team committed to helping every pupil succeed throughout the placement.
