Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Waltham Forest, East London, on a permanent basis. Immediate start or for September, the role is full-time and requires a Level 3 EYFS qualification with strong communication and teamwork skills.

The successful candidate will support learning in the EYFS classroom, assist with play-based activities, and help monitor children’s development and progress.

Qualifications

• Level 3 EYFS qualification (CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
• Experience in an Early Years or school setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for supporting children's learning.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within the EYFS classroom.
• Assist with planning and delivering engaging play-based activities.
• Support children's personal, social, and emotional development.
• Work with children 1:1 and in small groups.
• Complete observations and contribute to children's learning journeys.
• Prepare learning resources and classroom organisation.
• Encourage positive behaviour and independence.

Salary: 1,800 - 2,300 per month
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract: Permanent Full-time

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional who holds a Level 3 qualification and is passionate about supporting children's early development.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Essential

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
• Experience working within an Early Years or school setting
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

Desirable

• Previous experience working within EYFS
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Knowledge of observations, assessments, and learning journeys
• Paediatric First Aid qualification
• Experience working as an Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Nurse
