Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a Level 3 Childcare Teaching Assistant for an SEN school in Ystrad Mynach, Wales. The role supports pupils aged 3-19 with diverse needs, including autism and speech and language difficulties. You will work closely with teachers and staff to provide tailored support and promote inclusive learning.

The position is full-time, 08:30-15:30, Monday to Friday, with a daily rate of £92.63 and a safeguarding DBS requirement. Enhanced DBS and referencing checks apply.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (or equivalent) is required.
• Enhanced DBS is required.
• Register with Education Workforce Council.
• Provide two previous employment references.
• Complete safeguarding level 2.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with the class teacher, support staff and parents to provide the best possible support to pupils.
• Establish strong working relationships with pupils in small groups or 1-2-1 to aid academic and social development.
• Be proactive, hardworking and able to adapt to challenging situations.
• Maintain a positive and engaging approach to supporting children with special educational needs.

• Assist the class teacher in lesson planning and tailored lessons to meet pupils' needs.

Full time role

Teaching Personnel are delighted to be recruiting for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who possesses a Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (or equivalent) for an SEN school in Ystrad Mynach. The school caters for pupils from the ages 3-19 with a range of needs such as physical disabilities, autism, challenging behaviours and speech and language needs. This position does include working with challenging behaviour.

Rate: £92.63 per day

Full time: Monday to Friday

Working Hours: 08:30-15:30

Location: Ystrad Mynach

This job will require the successful candidate to possess the following skills:

• Build strong relationships with the class teacher, other support staff and parents to provide the best possible support to the pupils.
• Establish strong working relationships with pupils as a part of small groups or 1-2-1’s to help with their academic and social development.
• Be a proactive and hard-working individual who can adapt to challenging situations.
• Have a positive and engaging approach to providing support to children with special educational needs.
• To uphold the schools 4 values on a day-to-day basis: Independence, Opportunity, Sustainability and Wellbeing, leading by example for the pupils.
• Assist the class teacher in lesson planning and tailored lessons to meet the pupils needs.
• You may be expected to do personal care.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
