Play a key role in shaping young minds, assisting teachers, and fostering a nurturing learning environment. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic, caring, and eager to make a real difference in children's education.

Who We Are:

Ormiston Meadows Academy (OMA) is a happy, supportive and caring place to be. We understand the demands of the education industry and enable a sensible approach to workload, and a calm and respectful environment. OMA is a small, one form entry academy, which allows staff to build positive relationships with, and guide and support all our pupils. We are determined that every pupil be given the opportunity to realise their dreams and aspirations regardless of their background. We have a comprehensive professional development calendar and qualification opportunities are offered to all staff at all levels.

The successful candidates will align with our school values: Be your best, Expect the Best, Succeed, Together (BEST for short!) These are firmly embedded within our culture, and we are proud that our pupils demonstrate them daily.

Why work for Ormiston Academies Trust? Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

Our vision is to create a school system where every child thrives, regardless of background. Our people are at the heart of our approach – they are our greatest asset.

We exist to provide the best learning opportunities every day, in every school for every child. It is the people and teams in our Trust who make this a reality and ensure we have the greatest impact. If you join us at Ormiston, whatever your role, you can be sure of a role with purpose and meaning.

Ormiston, where every member of staff enjoys…

  • The opportunity to build on the legacy of those who came before – being part of one of the longest standing Trusts, created with the sole purpose of enabling children and young people to thrive
  • Working for a Trust nationally recognised for its impact on disadvantaged children – a rewarding, stimulating career where staff are challenged to be the best they can be, for the pupils we are proud to serve
  • Being part of a team and community where you belong – receiving bespoke and holistic support from a well-resourced and ambitious network of experts and professionals that work at the heart of communities
  • A supportive environment to grow your career – an extensive professional development programme, alongside flexible working arrangements and generous benefits

What we are looking for:

Duties will include in class support for SEND pupils to give them every opportunity to make expected progress by accessing the whole curriculum. Under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff prepare individualised and/or differentiating teaching resources for use in class.

We are looking for individuals who have a very flexible and enthusiastic approach to suit the varying and sometimes complex needs of our pupils and be prepared to undertake any associated tasks as required. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator as they will need to liaise with parents and carers in a manner that will support SEND pupils in their learning. We are looking for people who can demonstrate commitment, energy, and drive to join our team and work to provide positive learning experiences for all our students.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working within any of the primary Key Stages – EYFS/KS1/KS2
  • Have a broad and balanced education and be able to evidence, via original certificates, that they hold Level 2 (or above) qualifications in Maths and English
  • Be able to address the needs of our pupils by supporting them in overcoming their barriers to learning
  • Be able to demonstrate an awareness of emotional wellbeing and empathy for pupils, to understand their needs and respond accordingly
  • Be rigorous in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attitude and model this
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence
  • Have the ability to use IT to a proficient standard
  • Have the ability to work well in a team and independently

What we offer:

  • Access to the Vivup employee benefits portal with discounts on supermarkets, technology, fashion, travel, etc.

  • A supportive working environment where all staff are valued
  • An academy that is fully dedicated to developing every student to reach their full potential irrespective of their ability or starting point
  • Collaborative working within our shared family of schools and trust
