We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support our pupils in accessing a broad, meaningful, and engaging curriculum tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils under the direction of the class teacher and therapists.
• Support pupils with personal care needs, feeding, mobility, and use of assistive technologies.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a positive and therapeutic manner.
• Promote independence, communication, and life skills through tailored interventions and routines.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, families, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to learning and development.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and reviews as needed.
  
  

Essential

About You

• A genuine passion for working with children with complex SEN.
• Patience, empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of humour.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow direction while also using initiative.
• A willingness to learn and take part in ongoing CPD and training (e.g., Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, Moving & Handling).
  
  

Desirable

• Previous experience working in an SEN environment.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of autism, sensory integration, or therapeutic approaches.
