Job summary

Hays Education in partnership with a friendly Wolverhampton primary school is recruiting a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for Year 5 from September 2026.

You will support teaching and learning in the Year 5 class, work with small groups and deliver 1:1 interventions to help pupils reach their goals.

The role requires a Level 2 TA qualification (or equivalent), KS2 experience, an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, and a patient, flexible approach.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or recognised equivalent.
  • Experience supporting children within KS2.
  • Experience delivering small group and 1:1 interventions.
  • Good understanding of KS2 curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning within a Year 5 classroom
  • Work with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 support and interventions
  • Assist children with their academic, social and emotional development

Due to an increased need for support, the school is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their Year 5 team from September 2026.

Your new role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning within a Year 5 classroom. You will provide in-class support, work with small groups of children and deliver targeted 1:1 interventions to help pupils achieve their academic goals and build confidence in their learning.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting Key Stage 2 children and making a positive impact on their education.

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS through Hays
