Job summary

St Peter's CofE Aided Junior School, part of Grace Schools, is seeking an Assistant Headteacher to drive high-quality teaching and learning across the school and model exemplary leadership within a knowledge-rich curriculum.

You will oversee pupil progress, mentor staff, build strong relationships with families and the wider community, and uphold safeguarding standards while contributing to school life beyond the classroom.

Qualifications

  • Has a relevant degree or equivalent and QTS.
  • Experience as Assistant Headteacher/class teacher in a primary setting with impact.
  • Commitment to Grace Schools Principles of Education and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and model exemplary teaching within the academy's knowledge-rich curriculum.
  • Oversee pupil progress and drive outcomes across assigned areas.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Lead teaching initiatives to raise standards and children's life chances.
  • Maintain high expectations for achievement, safeguarding, and professional conduct.

Job Title: Assistant Headteacher

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Headteacher to join our supportive team and play a key role in ensuring high quality teaching and learning for all pupils across the school.

Key responsibilities:
  • Plan and model exemplary teaching within the academy's knowledge-rich curriculum, serving as an outstanding role model for the entire school community
  • Oversee and drive pupil progress and achievements across assigned areas, supporting staff to adapt practice and maximize outcomes for all children
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to colleagues, parents, and external agencies in line with our Grace Schools Principles of Education
  • Lead and implement teaching and learning initiatives to continuously raise standards and improve children's life chances through education
  • Maintain the highest expectations for achievement, safeguarding, and professional conduct while actively contributing to school life beyond the classroom
Pay, Hours and Contract:
  • Leadership Scale (L1 )
  • 100% per week
  • Permanent
Qualifications and skills:
  • Relevant degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience of working as an Assistant Headteacher/class teacher in a primary school setting
  • Alignment to the Grace Schools Principles of Education
  • Knowledge of strategies to support learning, progress, and standards across the curriculum including evidence of impact on progress
  • Principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and members of the community
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
