Job summary

Academics is seeking a Level 2 Qualified Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Appleton, Warrington. The role involves assisting across Early Years to Key Stage 2, delivering the curriculum with engaging activities, and supporting phonics and early reading.

You will work closely with teachers to promote a positive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 TA qualification, previous experience with children, and a strong safeguarding focus.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Has previous experience working with children.
• Understands the primary curriculum.
• Has experience supporting phonics and early reading.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Is patient, enthusiastic and dependable.
• Has a strong understanding of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Helping deliver the primary curriculum through engaging activities.
• Supporting phonics, reading, writing and maths.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and engagement.
• Supporting classroom routines and learning activities.
• Promoting positive behaviour and safeguarding procedures.
