Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the BL5 area on a full-time maternity cover from October half term until the end of the academic year.

You will work across EYFS and KS1 providing general classroom support and helping children engage, learn and thrive. Experience delivering phonics is highly desirable, with a supportive team and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Holds Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience with EYFS and/or KS1 is desirable.
• Phonics experience is highly desirable; willingness to develop early reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across EYFS and KS1.
• Provide targeted and general classroom support to pupils.
• Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and development.
• Support children with phonics learning.

Level 2 Teaching Assistant - Maternity Cover

Location: BL5 area
Hours: Full time, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Maternity cover
Start: October half term
End: End of the academic year

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the BL5 area on a full-time maternity cover basis.

The successful candidate will work across EYFS and Key Stage 1, providing general classroom support and helping children to engage, learn and thrive.

The role will include:

• Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS and KS1


• Providing targeted and general support to pupils in the classroom


• Working with individuals and small groups to support learning and development


• Supporting children with their phonics learning


• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment


• Working closely with teachers and other members of staff

Experience delivering phonics is highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates with a strong understanding of early reading and a willingness to develop their skills.
